After completing his mining engineering education, Nurullah Ercan fulfilled his military service as a teacher in the village of Odunboğazı in Şereflikoçhisar. On a snowy and stormy winter night when he arrived at the village, he lost his way in the dark but, guided by the barking of dogs, spotted the light of a house and was welcomed with warm hospitality. The sincere bond he formed with the villagers remains an unforgettable memory for him.

Nurullah Ercan never neglected his responsibilities to society throughout his professional life and left behind lasting contributions in various parts of the country. His son, Ali Ercan, established a foundation named after his sister Meliha Ercan, whom they lost at an early age, with the aim of preserving this valuable legacy and his father's principles. The Meliha Ercan Foundation follows a roadmap that aims to invest in young people and use its resources in a way that will brighten their future.

That day, this story, which began with the warmth of the villagers, turned into works that added value to our country over the years and the birth of a foundation.
